Book Recommendations for Beginner Piano Part 4

If you’re a piano teacher you’ve already noticed all the books available to use for teaching. Actually, you probably haven’t noticed them all and are most likely using books you yourself used as a child. When I first started teaching, I did the same exact thing. Throughout the years I've grown to have my own favorites books to use with my students. I’m here to share some more books that I use with my beginner students. Most of these books I’ll share with you today I use as add-ons to the Piano Adventure Lesson books by Nancy and Randall Faber. Here are some of the books:

Number 1: Classics Primer Level by Nancy and Randall Faber

This book has really great melodies including Ode to Joy and The Bridal March. The teacher duets are also really fantastic. Students love this book and it’s truly quite fun to play.

Number 2: Teaching Little Finger to Play by John Thompson

This book begins with songs on the grand staff. The first song introduces Middle C, D & E. The second song introduces Middle C, B & A. This one doesn’t have teacher duets written out BUT there is an additional book you can purchase which come with the teacher duet for four-hands piano AND 2 piano duets. It’s very cool.

Number 3: Teaching Little Finger to Play Ensemble by John Thompson

This is the book mentioned above. I have a feeling it’s not very commonly found or used. I could be wrong! I highly suggest you use this book if you decide to use the book above. It would be great to play these pieces with your students at recitals.
